The Corner Hotel Alexandra
Good Food. Good Service. Great Community.
In August 2016 the Commercial Hotel Alexandra changed it's name back to The Corner Hotel Alexandra, the name of the hotel for its first 50 years. Check out the press release in the Latest News at the bottom of this page for the background on the name change and some great history of the hotel and an early 20th century picture of The Corner Hotel.
The historic Corner Hotel Alexandra is a family hotel on the main corner of Alexandra township. Today the hotel is being lovingly restored and upgraded under heritage advice.
Our chefs are passionate about local produce and present a wonderful range of high quality pub food with a focus on local produce and free range ingredients. Our wine list focusses on the wonderful wines of Murrindindi and the surrounding regions. Try a beautifully fresh Goulburn River Trout from just upstream on the Goulburn River.
Our 12 rooms of renovated accommodation on the main corner in town provide great options for travellers, holiday makers, business visitors or groups, with a continental breakfast included. All rooms are fresh and clean, and premium rooms have TVs, doonas and electric blankets (2 with en suites). Click the button at the bottom of this webpage to check out the rooms or make a booking. The Corner Hotel Alexandra is a great place to stay.
We are especially famous for Victoria's's best chicken parmigianas (Herald Sun November 2015). Our parmas are made with juicy free-range chicken breast (at least 250g), crumbed with our own special crumb and topped with house made ingredients prepared in our own kitchen. 17 styles of toppings. Pop in for a Parma – you’ll love them!
Established during the gold rush in the first days of Alexandra in 1866, The Corner Hotel Alexandra is a friendly place for a family meal, fine dining or a sociable drink. Our beautifully renovated first floor accommodation opens onto a commanding historic balcony overlooking the main street and scenic surrounding hills. Browse the wine room in our full service drive through bottleshop for a selection of wonderful wines from Murrindindi and surrounding regions or our range of other Australian and imported wines.
Our ‘Goldfields Room’ in the original 1870s front part of the hotel is great for functions, parties or meetings for up to 30 people seated, with conference facilities available. The rear of the hotel can easily accommodate larger functions.
Drop in and our friendly staff and acclaimed chefs will welcome you with a smile and a chat and some great ideas of things to do and visit in the local region.
